- Acromioclavicular Joint Seperation Our shoulder blades wrap around and connect to the outside of our collar bones. This joint is called the acromioclavicular, and is surrounded by ligaments. When a trauma violently separates these 2-bones, ligaments sprain in what is called A/C joint separation.
Th A/C Joint is a common source of shoulder pain.
